- The Graphic Documentation Project
-
- The GDP is a project for creating manuals for UNIX-based
- programs within the graphic field. There is a great need for extensive
- manuals if UNIX and Linux are to be serious contenders to traditional graphic
- platforms, and appeal to graphic artists and designers. There are a lot of
- great programs out there, and they're just waiting for someone to document
- them.
-
- We have tried to make a start with GUM, and we hope that there will be more
- manuals coming along soon.
-
- If you want to participate in the GDP, just write to karin@frozenriver.ale.se
- (@frozenriver.com summer -98).If writing is not your game,there is always a
- need for bug trackers, editors, proofreaders etc., or you may just want to
- write a single chapter for a larger project.
-
- We're working with two kinds of manuals. First there is the classic "Bible"
- type of manual, which comprises every function in a program. Secondly we have
- the "WOW book" or "Teach yourself book" which is more practical with a lot of
- tutorials.'
-
- So don't hesitate to join up, GDP needs you!
-
- Yours, Karin and Olof
