  1. The Graphic Documentation Project

  3. The GDP is a project for creating manuals for UNIX-based
  4. programs within the graphic field. There is a great need for extensive
  5. manuals if UNIX and Linux are to be serious contenders to traditional graphic
  6. platforms, and appeal to graphic artists and designers. There are a lot of
  7. great programs out there, and they're just waiting for someone to document
  8. them.

  10. We have tried to make a start with GUM, and we hope that there will be more
  11. manuals coming along soon.

  13. If you want to participate in the GDP, just write to karin@frozenriver.ale.se
  14. (@frozenriver.com summer -98).If writing is not your game,there is always a
  15. need  for bug trackers, editors, proofreaders etc., or you may just want to
  16. write a single chapter for a larger project.

  18. We're working with two kinds of manuals. First there is the classic "Bible"
  19. type of manual, which comprises every function in a program. Secondly we have
  20. the "WOW book" or "Teach yourself book" which is more practical with a lot of
  21. tutorials.'
